MARTHA FARRELL AWARD 
The 5th Martha Farrell Foundation Award (2021) has been awarded to Sappho for Equality on November 20, 2021 in recognition of its ongoing work to protect the rights of LBT people in and near Eastern India.
Dr. Martha Farrell, a well-known advocate for gender equality and women's empowerment, was assassinated in Kabul, Afghanistan, in a terrorist assault in 2015 while directing a gender training session for the Aga Khan Foundation. The Martha Farrell awards were inaugurated in 2016 to pay tribute to her memory. Her principles and ideas are carried on via the Martha Farrell Award for Excellence in Women's Empowerment.
